Who is JK?
Hi! I’m a fine-line tattoo artist specializing in minimalist design. I’ve been working since 2014 and have been blessed to be able to create a career out of something I absolutely love.
Born in Texas and raised in the Virginias, I’ve always been shaped by movement from regions to cities and communities of all kinds. That sense of fluidity continues to inform both my life and work today and can be seen in my designs. I travel weekly between the Hudson Valley, Brooklyn, and Queens, work monthly in Washington DC, and take select trips to cities such as Nashville and Austin. I also travel throughout the continental US fairly regularly for both work and inspiration.
My approach to tattooing is rooted in subtlety, intention, and a passion for story-telling. I’m drawn to clean lines and understated designs that feel personal, timeless, and deeply considered. Each piece is created with care for how it will adorn the body throughout my clients’ lives.
Beyond the tattoo itself, I place equal importance on the experience. I believe tattooing should feel thoughtful, welcoming, and connective rather than transactional. I love conversation and the stories people carry with them, and I value the trust clients place in me when they choose to share a part of their lives through art. I’m immensely grateful that many of my clients return again and again, often checking in long after their appointments to share life updates, milestones, and new ideas. Those ongoing relationships are one of the most meaningful parts of my work.
In addition to private appointments, I specialize in event tattooing for weddings, corporate gatherings, brand activations, and private gatherings. Whether working in a studio, a home, or a business setting, my goal is always to create a fun, stress-free environment that feels personal and memorable.
Outside of tattooing, I’m a mother of two (my greatest joys and accomplishments in life). I love to read, write, and create art beyond the tattoo space, and those practices continue to shape how I see the world and connect with others. At its core, my work is about storytelling, connection, and creating something lasting that is both on the skin and beyond it.
I hope to connect with you whether it be for an appointment or simply just to say hello. I’m always open to meeting new people from all walks of life!
